The Fillmore Birthday Bash (both of our co-founders were born in the month of August!) will feature vegetarian and vegan dishes lovingly prepared by members of the congregation for our guests' nourishment on Saturday, August 12 at 5:00 PM at Unity of Joplin, A and N. Jackson Avenues. Several of the dishes will be prepared according to instruction from the original Unity Inn cookbook. The Unity restaurant was the first fully vegetarian restaurant in the Kansas City area.
Unity of Joplin is pleased to welcome Rev Jim Gaither to our Fillmore Birthday dinner. Rev. Gaither will portray co-founder Charles Fillmore throughout the evening, sharing a brief message of inspiration as Charles Fillmore himself would have done in the early 1920's.
Joining him in the role of Myrtle Fillmore is local Unity of Joplin member, Gerri-Ellen Johnson who will share Myrtle's healing thoughts in a brief presentation. In addition to these presentations, guests will enjoy familiar and positive music and of course, birthday cake!
